File size for pottery photos should be about 50kb, but less than 300kb for sure.
Headshot photos can be very small: 100 pixels wide, 5
Not sure how big 420 pixels is? Click here to see some sample.

-20kb for file size.

The pottery photos should be 420 pixels wide, so they don't look grainy with the large setting.

Clay Alliance Photo Gallery Quick Guide

After you receive your account you can login.

There are two parts to the Gallery:

1) The part that the general public sees

2) The part where you administer photos and information

Within the administration part of the web site, there are two sub categories:

A) Add and Update Photo Information

Putting a photo onto the web site is a two step process:

When you click on the Edit or "Add New Image" links, you will be taken to a page that looks like the one below

1. Find and upload the photo
2. Enter the text information and press the Update button

The page you see when you do Step 1: UPLOAD NEW PHOTO

UPLOAD PIC ERROR: If for some reason after you upload your page doesn't look like the example below, especially the gray text "The Photo has been uploaded...", then it is likely your photo did get uploaded, but the photo name did not get uploaded. If this is the case, then go back to the "Update Information" page (see two images up for a sample) and manually enter the exact text of your photo's file name (e.g. mybluepot.jpg), then click the Update button.

B) Modify or Delete Your Account

This name and headshot shows up on the Main Gallery Page. You can use a picture of you or of a pot for the "headshot". The details and email will show up on each of your photo pages. You can also change name or password.

The "headshot" picture for the Main Gallery Page should be about 100x100 pixels.

...This is 100x100 pixels...And the "coming soon" image is what will show on the Main Gallery Page until you update that page.

If you don't know that that means....it means it should be small. The file size will likely be about 5 to 20 kb (kilobytes).  This is smaller than any pictures you will put up of your pottery. Those should be 420 pixels wide, or file size about 25 to 65 kb.
